Movie Review for TRON: Ares

Movie Night at Texarkana Cinemark

I have always loved watching movies, but since starting college, I have not had many chances to go to the theater. Life has been busy with classes, studying, and other responsibilities, so I have mostly been watching movies at home. When I was about fifteen or sixteen years old, I worked at a movie theater, and that experience made me see movies in a completely new way. I got to see how everything worked behind the scenes, from the smell of fresh popcorn filling the lobby to the sound of the projectors running during a show. Working there gave me a new appreciation for the effort that goes into creating and showing movies. It also deepened my love for film, a passion that has stayed with me ever since.

I decided to spend a Sunday afternoon at the Texarkana Cinemark Theater (Texarkana Cinemark). However, there were not many films playing that caught my attention. Most of the current releases were horror movies, which I tend to avoid, or children’s movies. After checking the listings, I decided on TRON: Ares. I did not know much about it, but my boyfriend Jayden mentioned he had heard it was really good, so we figured we would give it a try.

Arriving at the Theater

We left school in the early evening to catch the 6:15 p.m. showing, which is my favorite time to see a movie because it’s late enough to feel relaxed but early enough to avoid getting too tired. When we arrived, we bought our tickets for around twenty dollars total. The concession stand smelled like buttered popcorn, and the variety of food surprised me. They had everything from nachos and hot dogs to burgers. We stuck with the classics: two medium popcorns, two large drinks, and two candies, which ended up costing about forty-four dollars.

We made our way to our assigned seats in the back middle section of the theater, which turned out to be perfect. From that spot, we had a clear view of the screen and could easily take in the full sound and visuals. The theater was fairly empty, with maybe ten other people in the audience, the demographic being that they were all around eighteen to twenty-five years old. Since there were not that many people it was hard to tell the general audiences reaction to the movie. It was extremely quiet so I would like to think that they were enjoying the movie.

Before watching TRON: Ares, I had not seen the previous TRON movies, and I hadn’t even watched the trailer beforehand. I only knew it was a Disney film, which made me expect high production value but not much else. I am not usually interested in movies about futuristic technology or artificial intelligence, but this ended up being a pleasant surprise.

From the moment the movie started, I was hooked. The visuals were stunning with bright neon lights, sleek designs, and digital landscapes that felt almost alive. Even though I did not know the background story, the film did a great job drawing me into its world.

The Theme

TRON: Ares explores the complex relationship between humans and technology. The story dives into how artificial intelligence might evolve and what that means for humanity. It raises questions about creation, control, and emotion. It also touches on the idea that eventually artificial intelligence may be able to form actual feelings.

What fascinated me most was how the film balanced excitement and philosophy. It was visually intense and full of action, but it also made me think deeply about the role of AI in our world. Will there ever come a point when we can no longer control the technology we create? Could machines one day feel compassion, anger, or fear? And if they could, what responsibility would we have toward them?

The movie portrays AI not just as a tool, but as something that could eventually challenge what it means to be human. That idea stayed with me long after the credits rolled. Even though I am not typically a fan of science fiction, I found myself completely captivated by these questions and the futuristic world the film built around them.

The Quality

The production quality of TRON: Ares was absolutely amazing. The graphics were bright, colorful, and full of detail, which made the movie fun to watch. The sound and music made each scene feel alive and exciting. The special effects looked very real and made me feel like I was actually part of the story. Every part of the movie worked together to pull me in and keep my attention from start to finish.

I felt a mix of excitement and curiosity the whole entire time. Some parts were intense, while others made me stop and think about what was happening. The emotional tone of the movie was also very strong. It made me feel both amazed and uneasy at the same time. The world in TRON: Ares was beautiful but also a little scary, showing how technology can be both helpful and dangerous. It reminded me of how our own world is changing with new technology every day.

Overall

Overall, my trip to the Texarkana Cinemark Theater turned out to be much more meaningful than I expected. I went in just hoping to find something to watch that was not a horror movie, and I ended up leaving with a lot to think about. TRON: Ares opened my eyes to how deeply storytelling and technology can connect, both in movies and in the world we live in.

The movie made me think about where our society is heading as artificial intelligence becomes more advanced. It was thought-provoking, visually stunning, and surprisingly emotional. I left the theater with a sense of wonder and curiosity that reminded me why I fell in love with movies in the first place. For anyone looking for a film that challenges the imagination while still being entertaining, TRON: Ares is absolutely worth watching and I would recommend it to anyone of any demographic.
